Initialement, l’OFFI à Montréal était connue sous le nom de « Loggia Piave No 919 » et sous la gouverne de l’OFFI d’Amérique. Dr Vincenzo Sellaro était le fondateur de Order Sons of Italy à New York. La première loge au Canada a été établie à Sault Ste-Marie en Ontario. Par la suite, Sam D’Onofrio et 33 collègues ont fondé la Loggia à Montréal. Au fil des ans, d’autres loges furent fondées dans la grande région de Montréal. Par la suite, toutes les loges fusionnèrent sous un seul groupe, connu simplement sous le nom d’Ordine Figli d’Italia à Montréal.
Les bureaux de l’OFFI sont situés à la Casa d’Italia, dans le quartier de la Petite Italie à Montréal. La Casa est le siège de l’OFFI depuis sa construction en 1936.
Au fil des ans, l’OFFI a organisé et accueilli divers événements et initiatives pour la communauté italienne locale. Aujourd’hui, l’OFFI continue de promouvoir la culture et l’histoire de la communauté italienne de Montréal.

Nous nous engageons à maintenir des relations positives avec les organismes et les institutions de la communauté italienne, ainsi qu’avec les autres communautés culturelles du Québec et du Canada, afin de promouvoir la collaboration et le respect de notre culture diverse.
The Ordine Figli d’Italia is the oldest Italian community organization in Canada. Founded on the principles of ‘liberty, equality and fraternity,’ the Ordine’s emblem is the golden lion in a white field, a symbol of strength and greatness. In 2019, when the Ordine celebrated its 100th anniversary, it officially changed its English title from ‘Order Sons of Italy’ to ‘Order Sons and Daughters of Italy’ (OFFI).
In the beginning, the OFFI in Montreal was known as the “Piave Lodge No 919” and was under the stewardship of the American Order. Dr. Vincenzo Sellaro founded the Order Sons of Italy in New York. The first Lodge in Canada was established in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Subsequently, Sam D’Onofrio and 33 colleagues founded Montreal’s Lodge in 1919. Over the years, other lodges were established in the greater Montreal area. Eventually, all the lodges would merge under one group, simply known as the Ordine Figli d’Italia in Montreal.
The OFFI’s office are located at the Casa d’Italia, in Montreal’s Little Italy neighborhood. The Casa has been the headquarters for the OFFI since it was built in 1936.
Over the years, the OFFI has organized and hosted various events and initiatives for the local Italian community. Today, the OFFI continues to promote the culture and history of the Italian community of Montreal.

Our mandate is to unite Montrealers of Italian origin by fostering a strong sense of community and belonging. We strive to maintain positive relationships with Italian community organizations and institutions, as well as with other cultural communities across Quebec and Canada, promoting collaboration and respect for our diverse culture.
